1. Painted cast iron for durability.
2. Scale weighed dumbbells for accuracy. These were extremely close to the actual weight.
3. Price for USA Sports is awesome. My 5-50 lb set was 499.00!!
4. This set comes in a big box full of small boxes. There is a lot of refuse( or recyclables) to deal with.
For a basic looking set, these are excellent. I recommend them to any user level.
