(More customer reviews)It took about a week to receive it. Easy to put together...just needed to see the pictures because there weren't any instructions in the box. Not as good as the linear bearing models but very close. Sticks a little bit on the hooks..... so I used some wd40 on it and no problems. You also need to spray some lemon funiture spray on the bars to have it go up and down freely. It has an olympic and a 1" standard weight sleeves. I have only standard weights. It took about an hour to put together. The bar weighs 57 pounds so you may need to order an adapter to counter balance from New york Barbell if you can't lift the bar plus the weight you will be using. You do need some weights or sand bags to stable the smith machine so it will not slide forward towards the wall or lift up when doing feet forward squats while not standing on top of the black floor plate. A very stable and sturdy smith machine if you do what I suggest. A good investment for the amount of money it is advertised.

Since the Sports authority weight set costs much less (around $125-200), I suggest you buy from them or any other local store. As for a quality barbell, if you are lifting any serious weights (250 lbs +), you are better of buying a good barbell separately. Be prepare to spend at least $150. Anything less and the quality isn't going to be there.

(More customer reviews)A while back I told a physical therapist I knew that I was getting a Body Solid power rack to replace my old cage; which I had built from wood about ten years ago.He shook his head and said "you should have gone with Tuff Stuff".
I got the cage in and assembled it a couple weeks ago, and now I see what he meant.It's ok, but for the price, I would have expected a lot more.

On the plus side, the cage itself is simple, yet solid design. It looks and feels like it will take a lot of abuse.The cage was easy to assemble, even though the instructions were pretty sparse.

Now for the downside; I also got the lat attachment, which is of a much flimsier design.There is a significant amount of friction; more than the cheapo MPEX lat pulldown that it was supposed to replace.The directions for assembling the lat attachment did not match the apparatus; which turned a two-hour task into 8 hours of frustration.I managed to get it together, but ended up with three bolts left over.

Bodysolid makes the claim on their website that the cage will fit any brand of bench.That is true if you only plan to use the cage for bench presses and squats.I'm still trying to find a way to comfortably and safely perform incline presses and shoulder presses with my York adjustable incline bench.If they would have made the cage just a foot deeper, that would have solved numerous headaches.Clearance for the cage is at about 6'2"; so if you are any taller, you'll be ducking down a lot.The folks at Bodysolid were less then helpful on these issues.

Both the liftoffs and safety bars are held in place by cotter pins; whenever you want to change the bars around, you have to pull out the pin, and then remember to put it back in.I can easily see those pins getting lost pretty quickly.

This cage also does not support any attachments for doing dips; which the competitors do.

There is, however, one advantage (which I do not think Bodysolid meant to do, and once they catch wind of it they'll probably figure out a way to eliminate it.)The holes perfectly fit one-inch steel pipes; which are purchasable at most hardware store.Using some of these and a bunch of screw-on caps, I was able to fashion some extra lift-offs so that I don't have to keep moving the lift-offs around.I'm also working on turning some of the unused holes on the cage into olympic weight holders; using a similar setup.

In summary; its not bad, but for the price, I expected something much better.

(More customer reviews)After searching both online and through local stores, I found this treadmill to be the only one in it's price range with a 22 inch wide (by 60 inches long) running surface, not to mention the 3 HP motor.I was also happy with the lifetime warranty on the motor and deck.

The only cons to this treadmill are that it doesn't fold up and it is extremely heavy.I have read, however, that treadmills that fold up tend to be less stable than those that do not so this may be an advantage.As far as the weight, this also adds to stability once you have it in place.

The manufacturer did not include an instruction manual, which was a mistake, but I was able to find it as well as their contact info online.Their customer service representative was both helpful and courteous.

The treadmill was fairly simple to assemble.It appears to be a well made machine and I am pleased with my purchase.

(More customer reviews)I agree that these are the best adjustable dumbbells on the market.However, I would add a few caveats.For starters, it is important to have the PowerBlocks on a level surface and make sure you insert the pin straight across rather than at an angle.If you don't, it is possible that a plate could fall and hit you even with the elastic backup mechanism.It is also very important to put the pin assembly together right side up.If you don't, the magnets that hold this assembly in place don't engage.

On exercises like OVERHEAD triceps extensions, the points above are particularly important.While I think this product is great, it does limit range of motion in some exercises such as upright rows.The dumbbell is rather long and this could be a problem depending upon your frame.However, I wouldn't worry about the square design.I find using these dumbbells to be quite comfortable and the padded grips certainly help.

While this product is quite expensive, it's also the best out there that I know of and I shopped around carefully.It also seems to be the safest and is certainly more convenient, takes up less room and even costs less than a set of full dumbbells that can cover the same weight ranges.

If money is an issue for you, you may want to consider getting the model of dumbbells one tier down from these that adjust in 5 lb. increments and then purchasing adjustable wrist weights in 0.5 increments.This will give you about the same effect for less cost.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the PowerBlock dumbbells after returning the SelectTech dumbbells.The SelectTechs are cumbersome, the weight plates feel loose, and you have to dial two dials to select one weight.Furthermore, they are over $100 more expensive than the PowerBlocks.

On the plus side for the PowerBlocks:
1) They take up very little space for an adjustable dumbbell
2) They feel solid
3) While not cheap, they are much cheaper than the SelectTech dumbbells
4) You can do over the head tricep extensions using both weights or one using the handles on the bottom
5) Selecting the weights is a one step process for each weight
6) They are upgradable with a heavier handle option and a barbell option

On the minus side:
1) Alligning the pins to select the weight is a bit more difficult with the weights on the ground.The stand or a table top would alleviate this problem.

Overall, I'm pleased with the PowerBlocks and definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality, adjustable weight dumbbell.

(More customer reviews)This has easily become one of "our" best ever purchases.My husband bought this as a a birthday gift for me and now we have to fight some nights for who will use it first.I have taken private ($75 an hour session) and group reformer classes ($30 an hour session x5 in a class) locally, but needed to use more than once a week which is hard to do with the pricey costs.We bought the risers too, since I like being a little off the ground when exercising.It makes getting on and off the machine a lot easier, plus my 3dogs don't bother us as much with the elevation.

My husband has had low back pain for years and I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia, so this machine is a must have in our house to keep us both moving.It stretches and strengthens your muscles and joints and really keep us moving on our rough days.I always get off the machine feeling more relaxed, lengthened, and energized.After using different types and brands of machines at different local studios this machine is my favorite because:1) easiest to adjust if you have two or more people using the machine and more adjustment settings then any other on the market (e.g., footbar adjustments for length/height, as well as angle.2) allows quick adjustments of the straps when moving from one exercise to the next and because of the dual strap loop design you don't have to make any additional adjustments between the arm and leg exercises once initially setup for yourself.3) quick and easy adjustment of springs/tension between exercises.

I would definitely recommend trying local instructors for proper form and safe use of a reformer prior to purchase.Try different studios and/or instructors to see which styles of reformer exercise you like best.Some instructors are more classical (usually move quickly from one move the the next) to more modern techniques (combining props with their moves, sometimes at a slower pace, etc.)This truly is the best quality machine and the most wonderful form of exercise for anyone with back pain or problems.We hope you enjoy as much as we do and use this machine in good health!

(More customer reviews)This is a great bench for working out at home.The gap that others have mentioned in their reviews is something that most incline/decline type benches have.As you raise the surface to incline the bench, the gap lessens until it disappears when you have the bench inclined all the way.When using the bench in the flat position, a rolled up towel works fine to fill in the gap if it bothers you.The construction is superb.This bench will last me my lifetime.I had absolutely no problem figuring out how to put the parts together with just the "expanded parts" view to follow.I recommend this bench to anyone who wants a high quality, sturdy workout bench.

I lifted the weight to my shoulders and then up for the first rep. The internal mechanism snapped while the weights were over my head. Fortunately I was not harmed. The weight missed my head and feet and slammed to the floor. I called Amazon, they were very helpful - I will receive a full refund plus a gift card for my trouble. Stamina (the company that makes this product) has proven to be very difficult to deal with. I called several times to report this issue. The customer service representative seemed annoyed with me. The manager was also supposed to get back to me but has neglected to do so thus far. I checked the BBB; there are multiple similar complaints with the company's products and their lack of professionalism and follow through in regards to dealing with unhappy customers. I certainly do understand looking for a bargain, especially during these trying times. For safety's sake I would invest in a better quality product. Good luck.

(More customer reviews)After years of collecting the old standard hex dumbells, and trying to maintain a home gym in the city in various apartments (usually in the common basement) I found the PowerBlock dumbells.For someone without a dedicated room (with lots of space) for their workout equipment, these are fantastic dumbells.They go up to 85 or 90lbs without the add-on kit, and they are super fast and easy to change the weight. They are pricey, but considering the amount of dumbells they replace, well worth it, for the right user.

After using the PowerBlock setup for a couple years I came across IronMaster, another brand with adjustable dumbells.They go to 75lbs without the add-on kit, and cost a little less than the PowerBlock dumbells.I have BOTH in my home gym now, and I will go over the pros and cons of each for those of you trying to decide on a set up like this.

PowerBlocks:

Pros: Well made, comfortable grip, fast and easy to change the weight in 10lb increments, nice stand included, made in USA, ability to go up to 85-90lbs as is, and 120lbs with add-on. Excellent for exercises where you change weight quickly or frequently. Square dumbells don't roll.

Cons: Funky design with 4 pillars around your hand/wrist. It works, but it makes me nervous at higher weights that if I were to drop them I could somehow catch my wrist in there and hurt myself.Difficult to quickly switch weights in increments smaller than 10lbs.This is a problem for many exercises.Although they are sturdy, and have never given out on me, they rattle and the plates move a little when you use them. Again, they seem sturdy but when doing shoulder or bench press it's a little disconcerting.You need to make sure the magnetic pins are fully inserted and in the right spot or disaster could ensue.The dumbells get long when using a lot of weight which can be somewhat awkward for certain exercises.

Overall:These dumbells are best for exercises where you change the weight frequently, or quickly, and work best for non-press exercises in my experience. The add-on kit is a nice option, but the dumbells are already pretty long at 85-90lbs, so it may be impractical for a lot of exercises.They were the first of their kind, they are still a serious contender in this ring.

IronMaster:

Pros: Well Made. More traditional looking & feeling dumbells.Up to 75lbs as is, and 125lbs with kit.Not as long as PowerBlocks, no awkward pillars to stick your hand in between.Nice stand included.Great bench and other accessories available (better than PowerBlock bench after using both). No rattling or moving of plates when in use.Sturdy and well balanced and made in USA. Excellent for press exercises. Just as quick to change the weight in 2.5lb or 5lb increments as it is by 10lbs or more.

Cons: Takes significantly longer to change the weight than PowerBlocks.For press exercises I find this to be less of an issue, but for curls and other quick change exercises it's a bit of a pain.No locking mechanism for the screw in pins.This has never been an issue, or caused a dumbell to fall apart during use, but there's no locking mechanism (or magnet such as PowerBlocks) just friction preventing the pin from unscrewing.I'm not too worried about it, but it has crossed my mind.

Overall: These dumbells are best for users who use higher weights for press exercises and want the traditional look and feel of a dumbell you might find in the gym.They don't rattle or move, and are very solid.They also go higher in weight than the PowerBlocks with the add-on kit, and cost less.Not as good for users using ligher weight and requiring quick changes.

Conclusion:For me, having both pairs is a pretty good set up, but If I were to choose just one, I would stick with the IronMaster.I like them for their sturdiness and lack of rattling especially when using heavy weight.In addition to the IronMaster, I would buy a cheaper set of adjustable dumbells with a lower maximum weight (50lbs maybe) that could be easily adjusted in 5lb (or smaller) increments to use for curls and kickbacks etc...and stick with the IronMaster for the heavier weights, where I really don't mind the extra minute of rest to change the weight! In fact, I think I will sell my PowerBlocks and get a set up like this, and have some money left over for Muscle Milk! :)

P.S. the IronMaster adjustable bench is the BEST I have used!

I hesitated a long time before making this purchase because my one rule of thumb regarding exercise equipment is to not spend a lot of money.I can become very enthusiastic about a project, buy a lot of equipment and lose interest.

In the end though, the aforementioned exercise routine is very, very effective; so I threw caution to the wind and bought the barre.

Let me say, first of all, it is very, very heavy.I had to get it up the the second floor& I still don't know how I managed it by myself.It comes in two boxes.One box contains the base and the other contains the upright and cross bars.

Once I got it upstairs, I realized, in this instance, heavy is good.I can perform all of the routines without feeling the barre will tip over.
You can adjust the height of the apparatus but its a little tricky.However, once you have it set, you probably won't have to adjust it again.

I recommend this barre as well as the Lotte Berk exercise routines.

BodySolid - leg press/hack squat machine. Took less than 6 hours for me and wifey to uncrate, organize, assemble & cleanup. The package was short some nuts and screws. We ended going to Home Depot rather make this a big issue w/BodySolid. This is our second large piece of equipment and BodySolid ultimately backups their 100% warranty for broken equipment is why I purchased the latest unit from them. The unit works very well so far. I'm pressing eight 45's and like the smoothness and stability. I'm 6'5 and my wife is 5'7" and so the unit is height friendly. The pull pin is in a weird spot but we work with it making adjustments to it under the foot pad. The footprint is much smaller than what you will find in most gyms yet it doesn't want for quality. Overall my wife and I are pleased with the overall performance. The hack squat and calf press works as advertised. Hack squats are smooth and effortless. We hesitate to give the unit 5STARS because (1) we haven't had the unit very long, (2) it lacked minor but necessary pieces and (3) the cushions could have been better quality.

(More customer reviews)there are simply not enough reviews or feedback about the proflex. the little reviews available were helpful and instrumental in our purchase. i have no previous experience with stretching units but a factor in our decision was the easy of installation. unpacking, set-up and installation took my 7 year old son and i less than 30minutes (without him more like 15minutes) to build. i've never installed anything with more ease. like previous reviewers, tools included although one nut was missing. well built and easy to use. we have a 600sq exercise room packed with just about everything one could need and the proflex is by far the most used. oft times we use it while watching tv and after vigorous training. my wife and son are very flexible and still find this unit challenging. i'm very inflexible and have charted my improvements and never thought i could be this flexible in such a short period of time (30days so far). i use it almost everyday and depending upon my schedule spend a mimimum of 5minutes to a maximum of 30minutes relaxing and stretching. a major factor in this purchase was the units "back & shoulder" strectching feature and the ablity to track progress. the only negative is wishing we purchased this thing much much sooner. yes, it's a few hundred more than most decent leg stretching units but as previously stated this baby is well built, highly effective and easy to move. the proflex is A MUST HAVE!!!!!!

(More customer reviews)At first, I was concerned that the tread belt was too small.But after using it for a while, it seems fine.The LS-5t is quiet and compact so great for smaller spaces. Prefect for power walking or running 8 minute miles or slower, but cannot go any faster.If this is your excercise level, you will find this machine just fine. Other treadmills seem unnecessarily bloated in size and options.Most standard treadmills are 18 to 20 inches in width which is better for fast running. This model is 16 inches, which allows for a more natural placement of the handles. My advise is to check out the width in stores to save the hassle of returning such a large heavy item.

It is VERY VERY easy to assemble, in about 15 minutes, as it comes partially assembled. Machine weighs less than others, at about 100 pounds compared to 150+; this is another big plus IMO as it does not become the focal point of the room.

In summary, a simple compact quality machine that gets the job done. From time-to-time Amazon has had special short-term sales on this item for less than its typical sale price. The LS-7T is the higher end model that is identical to the LS-5T except for the auto incline.

(More customer reviews)I bought this machine to complement the other pieces in my home gym.I was slowly becoming aware of slight weakness in my knees, and decided this machine would strengthen my hamstrings and quadriceps -- that in turn adds strength to the knees.

It comes in a HUGE, HEAVY box, but still needs to be assembled.The parts are expertly arranged on a cardboard that is covered a clear plastic film.You'll need scissors or cutter to remove the plastic.The directions are very good.The parts fit together very well.I am a 64-year old, fairly fit woman, and I did need to use great effort to tighten the bolts.But I assembled it in a few hours.The box comes with two sizes of Allen wrenches, and a strong but narrow dual-sided wrench that I quickly replaced with my own padded-handle wrench. The paddled-handle wrench was a must in my opinion, because of the strong pressure required to tighten the bolts.The box-supplied wrench was so narrow that it seemed to cut into my hand as I applied pressure, and it frequently slid off the bolts as I turned it.I do suggest that you assemble it where you plan to use it, because it is very heavy to move.

All the pieces feel like fine quality for the home gym.You'll have to add your own weights.I chose a 10-lb weight for starters, that I bought off Ebay: Troy VTX Grip Olympic Plate from Fitnessedgeonline, and $19.99 included shipping. (This seller was fast!) 10 lbs. works fine for extensions, but I'll add 5 or 10 lbs more for curls.YOU may be able to use much more weight, especially for men, but I personally caution against overdoing the weight, since the condition of the knee is at stake!

The seat and back cushions are great quality, as are the foam pads that contact the legs.I find the adjustments for body size very easy to make.I am 5'4" and I'd say a user should not be much shorter or the leg bar won't adjust high enough.A 6' man used the machine and said the adjustments he made were very comfortable for him.The machine feels very sturdy and steady when in use.

I have had the machine for several weeks now and am very happy with the purchase.As with any new gym equipment, start out slowly for safety's sake.I hope you'll like it too.

MISSING SCREWS

The package was missing all of the M6 x 80mm Button Screws which are mentioned in the manual.

There's a cardboard sheet, covered by plastic which is supposed to contain all of the screws and bolts necessary to put the 390 together.All of the tools on the sheet, are clearly marked.But the 80mm screws aren't there at all - i.e., they are not only missing; there is not even any labeled place for it.The M6 x 80mm screws were completely forgotten when the factory put this together.

Anyway, I contacted Customer Care, using the number in the manual.First day I called the toll-free number, it was impossible to reach anyone.But the second day, it went smoothly.They took down the information, and I received the 80mm screws within a week.ASSEMBLY

Regarding assembly itself, the manual was clear enough.They manual recommends two people, but it took only me, and I'm about average when it comes to assembling these things.It took a few days, moving very slowly, but it could clearly be done in an evening.THE WEIDER 390 POWER TOWER

The equipment itself seems to operate as expected.The knee pad plate seems unnecessary, so it was removed.You could just as easily use a chair, and bend your knees loosely.That seems to accomplish the same thing.

My purpose for purchasing the 390 was for the pull-ups.My doors can't handle the weight of those pull-up bars which are sold everywhere, so the 390 seemed like a good substitute.A secondary reason was the dips.

Considering that there are no weights on this machine, the whole thing is surprisingly heavy.Nothing that a grown person or two can't re-position occasionally, mind you; just heavier than expected, for a non-weight exercise unit.

I don't care for the stiff-arm oblique knee raises on this machine, but that may be only a personal preference; someone else might find it convenient.

One pleasant surprise was a place for calf raises near the bottom of the unit.Very convenient, that.GENERALLY, OK

(More customer reviews)I purchased my Stamina ATS Air Rowing Machine from Mercantila. When my stamina arrived, it was quite a workout just putting it together. I was rather disappointed, as I thought I'd be receiving better quality for 300.00. The components were obviously very cheap. Nonetheless, I was optimistically hoping to get a great workout on the machine.

I did get a great workout on the machine...for 3 weeks. Then one day I was using it, and the chain just exploded. The handle flew up in the air, and there were little pieces of metal all over the floor. Now, I'm not some Hercules or amazon. This was certainly not due to excessive force exerted on the machine. I'm just an out of shape 5' 5" woman. Mercantila was fabulous about it though. They paid to have it returned, and quickly refunded my money.

Supposing the "explosion" of my machine was a fluke, I still wouldn't recommend the Stamina ATS Air Rowing Machine. It was not very sturdy. After I'd been using it about 1.5 weeks, one of the bolts came off and hit the floor in the middle of a workout. When I tightened the bolt back on, it bent the metal. The machine has a pronounced "check" which bothered my shoulders (ironic, since I chose as air rower because it's supposed to be easier on a woman's shoulders than a piston rower) The seat was wobbly. The foot straps had to be tightened repeatedly throughout a workout. Oh, and the most ANNOYING part: every workout, within 5 minutes, one of the grips had slipped off the handle!!! And of course it would take 2-3 minutes to get it back on.

Bottom line: It's not a comfortable machine, and I think it could be downright dangerous for any kind of athlete. I'm a 5 foot 5 inch woman who's out of shape -- I can't imagine a muscular athlete using this thing without extreme irritation in the least, and possibly injury (due to the lack of sturdiness) at the most.

X-Pole Sport Titanium Gold 45mm Review

(More customer reviews)I have the older version of this pole. I prefer the older design to the newer design, I have this design in a 50mm chrome. The 45mm was the best that I could have gotten, I have small hands and I could not develop grip strength on the bigger poles and it was very discouraging. This pole has helped me to develop strength and I have found that all the leg holds I have learned on this pole were so much easier on the bigger pole. If I had not bought the 45 first I don't think I would have been able to get as far as I have because I needed grip strength to even be able to begin to the other holds. The only problem I have with this pole is that the gold has worn off. Other than that, it is easy to remove and very strong; I have nothing but good things to say about this pole which is why I bought a second one in the 'industry standard.' The 45 is still my favorite though.

(More customer reviews)We like to incorporate back exercise in our workout routine, and after trying out a friend's inversion table, we decided to get one for our home gym.

The reason to use an inversion table is to stretch your spine. Normally, you stand and your legs and pelvis and stomach support the spine. When you sit, you increase the pressure on the spine by resting on your coccyx (tailbone). So for people who sit all day, inversion can actually act like traction, using gravity to pull the vertebrae and decompress the spine.

As you hang or lean at various angles from 20 degrees to 90 degrees -- totally upside down, your head gets more blood, your stomach muscles lengthen and stretch and your shoulders relax because you put your arms fully over your head.

You can gradually build up your angle from 20 degrees, allowing you to adjust to the new feeling in your head and spine. You can use the table to do rocking (down to your set angle, back up to level or vertical) or you can do intermittent traction (1-2 minutes down, 1/2 minute up.) In the fully suspended 90 degree position, your body is literally hanging by your ankles and you can do twists, sit-ups, squats and back arches. This is not possible in the shallower angle positions as you are lying on the table in those positions as opposed to freely hanging with spine straight.

You may not use any bands, weights or other equipment while on the table. You MUST wear tie shoes with flat, even soles (no thick soles, no high tops.) A standard pair of trainers (running or walking shoes) with ties works just fine. The table is a molded, net nylon bed resting on a steel A-frame. The bed rotates like a teeter-totter. There is an ankle clamp on the bottom to hold your feet securely, and a pin lock height adjustment to set the table to the right height for you. The newer Flex table has a redesigned foot platform design that dials up or down for smaller or larger feet. This is a boon, as I have big feet but small ankles--so I dial mine down so I don't slip out. Those with bigger feet need a different setting.

There is now controlled lockout in full inversion and the redesigned bed allows you to flex as you move, so it flexes with the back's natural curves. There is also a pillow. These are significant differences to the comfort of earlier models.

The unit is based on an A-frame that collapses for folding and storage, the hinges lock (like on a folding table) and there are clips on the base to stabilize the base on the floor.The table is not powered; you operate it with your body weight, using your arms to add upper body weight to take you down to your desired position.The Sport version of this model uses gravity boots (wrap around ankle and clip on base) rather than an ankle clamp. People who do full inversion say that this is more comfortable than the pressure on the ankle, so you might want to test this out before you purchase a table. There is also an optional back massage mat. When starting out, have a friend to stay with you in case of dizziness or other discomfort. The Teeter EP-550 table comes with a DVD that demonstrates proper use, and of course check with your medical professional before using this table. Teeter provides a downloadble guide for discussing this with your doctor.

Summary: the redesigned flex table and pillow make this a more comfortable inversion table and an improvement over the previous flatbed models.

The assembly is tricky and there are no instructions except for a parts diagram that can be difficult to follow. You will need wrenches and/or a metric socket set to properly assemble this bench. This a a heavy duty bench that is rated up to 1,000 pounds and Bodysolid provides a lifetime warranty. I found the bench to be very stable and comfortable. I have used it in all modes: incline, decline and flat and the adjustments are very easy. There are two wheels on the base which are useful when you want to move the bench. In summary, I believe this is the last weight bench I will ever need to buy.

(More customer reviews)We bought this swim platform for our home on a lake for our 12 and 8 year old boys.

I unwrapped and inflated the platform in the garage using an air compressor.It comes with couplings for an air pump and vaccuum for inflation, but as I don't have an air pump and access to the vaccuum as a blower was not convenient, I wanted to use the air compressor.

There is not a fitting that works with an air compressor included.I ended up using a fitting I use to blow out the sprinkler system and some duct tape to create a fitting. It worked OK as the raft is only supposed to be inflated to 5 lbs of pressure and for the vast majority of the inflation there was only a pound or two of pressure.

This is when I hit my first glitch.I had no way to measure 5 lbs of pressure.So I inflated it until it seemed tight and then moved it to the lake for launch.In the end I had under inflated it.I sent my boys our for a test run and when they climbed the ladder the tube collapsed excessively.I would say that watching kids use the ladder is the best test of how much pressure to add.Of course this is not practical unless you are in the water, but I figured out I could float itout into 4 feet of water and test it.We had to add air one more time too as after a week of play the tube stretch a little I think.

The anchor is kind of underplayed in the whole description of this product, but it recommends an 80 anchor.I used 6 cement blocks as I felt that that was well over 80 pounds and would sink into the lake bottom enough to guarentee the raft didn't go anywhere.I purchased 30 feet of stainless steel chain to attach the raft to the block.I knew this was excessive, but as I didn't have exact measurements for the depth of the water, I felt I would just cut off the excess.In the end, this was an excellent move.The excess chain made working this much easier.I moved the blocks one at a time into about 11ft of water.This is much more challenging then it sounds as 11ft is a long way down when you repeat it over and over.I am not sure you can move an 80 lb anchor in a boat, so I didn't try, I stacked the blocks by walking on the bottom and bobbing up and down.This look like 30 minutes including rests after every couple of blocks.

Next I hooked an empty laundry jug to one end of the chain so I would be able to get to it from the surface using a stainless steel carabiner.Then I fed the chain thru the blocks and clasped using a stainless steel carabiner.Feeding the chain thru was several trips to the bottom and requires one to be a pretty strong swimmer.I wanted to use something I could quickly clasp and unclasp if I wanted to as this was 11 ft under.

Then I unclasped the laundry jug and reclasped it about 3 ft under water so I had access to the chain from the surface, but the jug was not in the way to attach the platform.I swam the platform out and clasped the chain to it with another stainless steel carabiner.Then I removed the laundry jug.I plan on using the laundry jug in the winter to keep the chain off the bottom so I saved it.

That process took a about 90 min as I had to rest several times from all the swimming.Long story short, there may be better ways to attach the anchor, but to establish a perminent anchor is a task you should think about before hand.I have seen several platforms blow into the neighbors swim area because of inadequate anchors so make sure you use something heavy enough and will sink into the lake bottom.USE:
As far as use, the platform works well with a single person on it.They can jump and lots of stuff.We had a birthday with 12 kids and the platform was a huge problem.First, it collapses in the middle with 3 or more kids on it.They just end up ina big pile in the center.

The only way to sun is to lay near the edge on the tube.The kids dont really get this and try to lay in the middle.I would not consider this a good platform for sunning yourself.

King of the raft, which was the most common game when I was a kid does not work well, though is probably safer then any other raft.The Bongo is VERY HARD to get on.The raft is very tall and the edge is rounded and slippery.So the only way and I mean ONLY WAY on the raft is the ladder.Even then after you are at the top of the ladder, it is a lot of work to get fully onto the raft.There is simple nothing to hang onto.The upside of this is there is nothing to get hurt on either.

Nightmare for poor swimmers.On a normal platform, swimmers come up to the edge and just hang on.Especially while waiting for someone else to use the ladder.On the Bongo, there are 2 hand holds, one on each side.These and the ladder are the only thing to hang onto.The sides are round and slipper and there is no way to hang on them.It is too tall to reach the top.My 8 year old, is an OK swimmer and we worry all the time that he will not find a handle in time.The old son helps him a lot to make sure a handle is accessable and is almost required.I could not recommend this platform for children who can not swim and tread water for a minute or two while they get to a handhold or the ladder.I am considering adding some ropes draped off the sides for additional handholds.Unfortuntely, they could become problems to entangle the kids, so I dont know. The platform should have a handhold on every section really.I am going to add a second ladder as the circumference of a 13" platform is like 40' which is a long way for some to swim in a lake.

SAFETY:
The lack of anything hard on the raft make scrapes, cuts, ... from the platform almost impossible.The safety concerns come in a couple of areas:

Underneath - If someone is bouncing and someone goes underneath, they will literally have someone jumping on their head.As the person is underneath no one can see them if they became injured.There has to be a strictly enforced policy against going underneath.Unfortunately, the kids love the cave underneath.

Few Handholds - There are only 2 handholds and the ladder to hang onto (tho underneath there is also the anchor line).Poor swimmers can tire trying to find a place to hang on.

Collapsing - When the platform is loaded with 3 or more kids, they tend to get hurt being thrown into each other in the middle.These are usually very minor injuries.

Difficult to get on - It takes a lot of work to get on and people tend to have to rest a little while to make it up.

Jumping on people - Seems like this would be a problem, but I think it is no worse then any platform.This platform is taller, so maybe they would hurts someone more, but we did not see this.The energy of bouncing is absorbed by the water so the kids don't really bounce very high and it is far enough to the edge that they don't really jump high and into the water.To jump high they are in the center and don't go high enough to land in the water.SUMMARY:

The kids have a lot of fun bouncing on the Bongo and playing, but have to be watched due to the dangers of going underneath.If your kids are good about following safety rules, this can be a great entertainment in the summer on those hot days.

Easier on the back when doing deadlifts and makes doing shrugs more effective. For some strange reason I feel like I can lift more weight with this bar vs a straight bar. My wife wasn't able to do more then 25lbs deadlifts with a straight bar (the weight of a 5ft hampton bar), now she's doing deadlifts with this bar (no weights) but the bar weighs 60lbs and finds it more comfortable even though its over twice the weight.

(More customer reviews)I just bought this treadmill on clearance for $125 at Kmart.I couldn't pass up the deal, but I was weary that something had to be wrong with it for that price.I had my dad help me put the thing together, which took about 90 minutes, and then was ready to go.It works perfectly.I paired it with Shape-Up Shoes and could really feel my legs ache after only 30 minutes.I love to run and had been in track for years, so the 10mph is phenomenal.The only thing I'm not ecstatic about is the sound the treadmill makes when I run on it.The shock absorbers are a little too small.
I love it that you can also add an incline by just a touch of a button.That's where the real workout comes from in my opinion.Plus, the belt is long enough to have a long stride and still no problems.
And there's 6 trainer workouts to choose from.They let you know what's the highest speed you'll be going and the maximum for the incline before you choose which workout suits you.Three of them use the walking arms, which really does help tone your arms.
All-in-all, I absolutely love this treadmill.Every morning I grab two bottles of water and my mp3 player and I'm off for a good 90 minutes.It definately beats sitting around the house during winter when there's too much snow outside to walk in.As long as you read the directions, and put everything together right, it's a great product.I would never trade it in for another treadmill.

(More customer reviews)Definitely worth the money.Shipped from Bayou Fitness via Fedex National (freight) and came about a week after ordering.Fedex called me to schedule the pickup, since you have to be home to sign for it.The weights are packed well in plastic bags inside cardboard boxes and delivered in a small palletized shipping crate.The Fedex guy used a pallet jack and brought the crate into my garage, which is in the back of my house and told me to drink a lot of muscle milk protein when I work out ;-)He says he benches 400 lbs, so I think I may try that out.The weights themselves are coated in some kind of grease, probably to keep the rubber fresh and keep them from sticking to the packaging material, which needs to be cleaned off with soap and water.The rubber coating feels good and is not giving off noxious sulfur fumes.The biggest thing for me is that they look really cool and go well with my Powertec leverage system gym.I will definitely buy more of these in the future, although, probably of the 45lb variety, now that I have a mixed set.For the money, these are one of the highest quality, best looking plates you will find.I like how even the small plates are shaped like the big ones.They are also very quiet as you would expect from rubber coated plates.My previous set is painted iron and have become very rusty.I will never again buy non-coated gym equipment.You pay double the price for coated equipment, but it makes you feel like you are at a good gym and it makes you want to work out more.I don't like getting rust on my hands when I'm working out.

(More customer reviews)In my personal effort to keep our economy moving, I decided to make my otherwise unused living room (save for the 2 dog crates that is) into a home gym.I have an old stationary bike, so we moved that into the space from my bedroom.I set out then to buy a treadmill and elliptical.I researched what to buy for days.I've never owned an elliptical, but have used a friends and know they give good workouts.I was not intending to spend this much money on one, but I was intrigued by the reviews that the Agile was part of the new technology.It seems that the arc-type trainers can give many more muscle groups a workout, and Smooth Fitness touts that you can strength and cardio train at the same time.I decided to bite the proverbial bullet and ordered one from their website.They sent me emails detailing the common-carrier freight shipping.It took around 2 weeks from the order until delivery.

My first real comment, besides the fact that you drop a lot of cash to buy this thing, is that you'd better be prepared for it's arrival, both mentally and physically.Smooth has a video and the manual on it's website that outlines how to put the thing together.I watched the video prior to the arrival and felt I was prepared.WRONG.This thing is so big, I can't even describe it.There are 2 boxes it is shipped in.The SMALL box weighs nearly 150lbs.The large box is truly huge.I'm so glad I was putting it into my relatively empty living room.It weighs some 330pounds.Now, I'd like to take a moment to describe my ability to put things together.In my 39 years, I have successfully assembled literally hundreds of pieces of furniture.I've even lent myself out to friends who are assembly-impaired.I've done massive desks, cribs, bookshelves, tables, credenzas, I mean you name it, I've assembled it.I'm good at it and I like doing it.Most things I do all by myself because I'm a perfectionist and I follow directions to a T.Ok, so you get the idea.Now, despite the manual and the video (which I kept referencing religiously as things spiralled out of control) it took me 8 HOURS to put this thing together.No lie.It was absolutely the most horrific experience I've had.This thing is zip tied by some sadists when they pack it.Don't get me wrong, I know it needs to be secure for shipping, but I had real problems just cutting some of the ties.In the video they just touch them with their box cutter and they break.Not in reality.I used a combination of box cutter, wire cutters and sharp scissors and really struggled.Also, I feel the manual is not easy to follow.It refers to pieces by name but there is no diagrams that name the major pieces.There are diagrams with the whole thing blown apart, but it contains every piece, down to the last screw, so it's way too overwhelming to figure out what is what.In the end, I was able to assemble the entire thing by myself, but it is definitely not for the faint of heart.I consider this the Everest of assembly required.

Now, given that it took me 8 hours of literal blood, sweat and tears (and cursing), how is it?Well, mine is still on top of it's cardboard box in the middle of the living room.It's so heavy, I can't lift it to roll it on its handy wheels to move it.I'm waiting for an unsuspecting friend to visit and be recruited to help me.I have jumped on briefly, and I just in the two minutes I was trying it out I felt different muscle groups burning with each change on the "motion" button.Love the thumb "motion" and "intensity" controls.One other beef I have with the manual is it is horrible at describing how to operate the thing.I would like to know what each of the 11 different motions actually is or what muscle groups each one targets.I can't find that information anywhere.There are no youtube videos of people using this thing or workouts posted.I suppose it's price point keeps it from being a wide-spread product.Anyway, I'm looking forward to really using it.I'll post an update in a few weeks detailing how I've done with it.

So, I've been working out about 6x/week so far.I've lost 25 pounds since I started, and am clearly more fit than when I first began this new program.The first day I got on the Agile, I couldn't last more than a minute or two without stopping.Now I can go for as long as I want to on motion 1, intensity 1.I've gotten a polar HRM, which the Agile does pick up BTW, and if I get on the Agile and start at 1,1 it takes forever to get my HR up to my target...clearly I've improved!Generally, I'm doing 15 minutes on the agile and then I'm doing HIIT intervals on my bike for the rest of the time.I really like the Agile.First I warm up on my bike, then I jump on the Agile and go to motion 12, which is a very short stride length that is very deep--it's like high stepping and really gets my HR up to the target after a minute or so my quads are screaming.Then I usually go to motion 1 or 2.The lower the motion number, the longer the stride.Motion 1 is really comfortable for me and I can go all day on it.I'm having to increase the intensity at times to keep my HR where I want it.I also sometimes go backwards to work out my calves.I'm doing strength training too, and I'm really seeing the results in my leg muscles.I really love this machine...for a while, I had hurt my ankles..I think doing lunges with dumbells...and I couldn't do anything but the Agile and my bike.I really sweat with this workout and it feels great.Quibbles..still the readout on the machine.I don't like it much at all.But, I use my polar monitor to figure out how long I've been in my target zone, so I guess it doesn't matter. It is a very large machine, and dominates the room; however it looks good.I had one delivery guy say how impressed he was by the looks of the machine.So, overall still 5 stars!I highly recommend it if you have the desire and the savings to grab one of these!!
****Update, one year after purchase*****
Glad to say things are still going well.I've lost 110 pounds.I'm in good cardiac shape-my resting heart rate is now in the 40s.My cardio workouts vary from day to day, but I walk, run, elliptical, play racquetball, row and swim.I joined a gym for the swimming and racquetball part; they have tons of ellipticals, but I don't like any of them nearly as well as I like my agile DMT.So I still do my elliptical workouts all at home.With the different motion settings on this machine and with strength training, I've seen very impressive muscle development in my legs.I've had no problems at all with the machine: it works just as it did on day one.No maintenance issues or anything else.Very glad I bought it, as I owe a large part of my early weight loss and now continuing success to the use of this machine.

It is almost fully assembled in the box and the tools are also provided which was nice. Within 45 minutes we were trying it out. The treadmill can be folded while in the box which allows you to break the end of the box and wheel the treadmill out of the box and into its location instead of having to lift it up and out as I first thought that I may have to do. Treadmill has excellent reviews on-line. My wife wanted an iPod connection but told her that it was just something else that could go wrong...the treadmill is in front of a TV and she can wear her iPod if she wants to listen to music. I can't believe I did not have to spend lots of money on an expensive elliptical machine to get such a great workout!! It took my husband about three hours to get this machine completely together. Everything was well organized and the instructions were very clear. This machine is as it states "a whisper quiet operaton", very smooth. The magnetic 8 levels of resistance gives you a good variety of workouts, I never get bored. The display for time, distance, calories, etc. is big and very easy to read.

(More customer reviews)Easy assembly, I guess they assumed some nicks would occur as two vials of paint were included.Main bearings are in two pieces, one on top and one on bottom.I do not see this as a major drawback for home use.I also don't have any problem with the standard plate mount vs. the olympic sleeves.They use floor protectors which seem good though some shimming may be requried if your floor is not completely level, no leveling provision is provided.The range of motion available seems very good and the seat mount is also highly adjustable although I bumped my head at the highest position.It is very smooth in use though I did grease the bearings during assembly.I am used to seeing some suggested exercises though I know the obvious exercises are well, obvious.Overall, I am happy with it, the machine is smooth, the build quality is good though not commercial quality and in everyday home use it should last many years.Bang for the buck is a good 8 or 9 out of 10.

The instructions are incorrect.The very first step show L-shaped part which is a little different from what it really is.There are 2 triangular platters which are never mentioned in the instructions and have to be attached to the L-shaped part and the other part specified in 1st step.I realized that towards the end of the assembly, so had to dis-assemble and reattach those platters.
The machine however is good for what it's supposed to be used for.

(More customer reviews)My wife has been wanting to buy a Total Gym for some time now, and we're glad we waited, because the Total Gym 1800 seems a bit better than the 1700 for a very similar price.We had a hard time finding enough info on the 1800 but decided to take a chance.Although we're not familiar with the 1700, there doesn't seem to be anything "missing" and the 1800 does include a few extras such as larger glide board, and ab boards.It also has leg pulley kit, one foot harness, dip bars, press up bars, and the wing accessory, many of which I think are included in the 1700 as well.

Pluses: Convenient and easy to exercise many different muscle groups, compact and reasonably priced.Adults and older kids can use it comfortably.I don't find it difficult to make adjustments even raising and lowering, but may be difficult for people who weigh only 100 lbs or less.

Minuses or things that may take some getting used to:

(1) Lot of adjusting required.Different exercises require different attachments, some of which get in the way of each other so you don't (can't) have everything permanently attached.At least with the hitch pins it's easy.What's not so easy is adjusting the effort level, because the only way to do this is by raising or lowering the glide table so it's inclined at a different angle (all exercises require raising your body on the glide table, at a steeper angle this requires more effort).So where I've started is level 1 (easiest) for a few exercises, then I adjust to level 3 for a couple of other exercises.While I do expect to get stronger at the level 1 exercises, I kind of doubt that I'll ever be at the same setting for all exercises.

(2) Mechanical design leaves something to be desired.(a) I have yet to find a good place to keep the handles when not using them so they just kind of rattle around on the floor.(b) There's a safety hitch pin, but either I'm not using it right or it doesn't fit well - there's a hole it seems it should go in, but it either goes in cockeyed or it bangs up against the main spring loaded pin that holds one end of the glide table up. (c) There's a velcro pad on one of the rails, the pulley fitting rubs against this and it's going to come off sooner or later. (d) There's a foam pad that goes under the unit.But when you raise or lower the glide table, the distance between the feet changes and the foam pad shifts around.Minor nuisance keeping the unit on the foam pad, I'm inclined (no pun intended!) to get a nice big plywood sheet and keep the Total Gym on that. (e) Depending on the attachments in use, the plastic-sheathed cable may rub on the attachment.

One thing potential buyers should know is that there is only one length adjustment to accomodate height variations in users.The "curl" (upper arm) part of the leg arm has two length positions - the heel padding arm can be brought in closer to accomodate a shorter person.The leg extension part, however, only has one setting.This setting is appropriate for someone (this is just a guess) between 5'6" to 6'3".Too far outside of that height range and you might experience limited function.

(More customer reviews)I've tried many neck harnesses and this one is the best. Three reasons. First of all, its made of leather. Even if you don't end up buying this one, get a leather one. Leather keeps its shape and is a little more rigid than those made of nylon- nylon can just slip around too much.

Second, it's padded. Its got this wool-like stuff to pad it, and that makes it very comfortable, especially when you start to load those 25 lb. plates on there.

Finally, the thing is adjustable. Some neck harnesses are, and some aren't. I tried a nylon one one time that didn't adjust- what a joke- don't even bother with one if you can't adjust it. The Grizzly adjusts by way of velcro on the front strap. Simply the best!

The treadmill was not working correctly. The walking track was catching/sticking. After weeks of delays and back orders, they told me that they were not honoring the warranty. I am still unsure as to the reasoning as they have not provided an explanation that would legitimately give them a reason to not honor the warranty, which still has a year left on it.

I am unable to recommend Nordictrack or their extended warranties and UTS. A compnay and their products are only as good as the guarantee and the honesty to which they honor their guarantees.

(More customer reviews)I've run about 400 miles on mine over the course of a few years, with no serious problems. The tread is made from high quality rubber, the machine is very stable, the 60 inch tread length is great, and it's easy to adjust the tread (left or right a centimeter or so, maybe every 100 miles) with a supplied allen wrench. Here are the minor issues I've encountered:
1. It is very difficult to move. You have to lift about 100 pounds just to roll it in a very limited manner.
2. It doesn't beep anymore (to indicate events like power on, or setting the speed to 10MPH, etc.).
3. The pulse measuring feature doesn't work very well. It measures my pulse too quickly (within 3 seconds), or not at all, and as a result it is not very accurate or consistent.
4. It measures distance incorrectly at the very start-- If I start from rest and click 10MPH, the reported distance increases as if I am going 10MPH immediately, while the actual speed is climbing up to 10MPH over the course of about 15 seconds. In other words, it reports I run a mile in exactly 6 minutes when really the first 15 seconds were at a slower pace.
5. The aluminum panel at the front end of the tread is flimsy. I stepped on it twice while running, almost destroying the panel on one occasion. It is now a bit warped and it almost touches the tread. I've learned to avoid it, which is easy when you have 60 inches to work with.

(More customer reviews)I have had a Galena model including the leg press add-on since 2004.It's a very solid, well-made gym.I'm 6'3" and have not had any trouble doing any of the exercises. If you're much taller than 6'3" you may find the leg extension less than satisfactory. (It just barely works for me.)All parts move with ease and without noise except for the customary clank the moment the weight stack comes back to rest after an exercise.It came with all the straps and widgets needed to do the full range of exercises.So, no other expense, other than a book I purchased to help me see other ways to use a weight machine. (The manual and exercise poster that came with my Galena didn't describe all of the various exercises that can be done with it and there's a LOT more that can be done than what they tell you. Perhaps since 2004 they've added a little more documentation?) It fits nicely into a corner of the room and looks like it belongs in a commercial gym.For the money I didn't find anything else close to this quality back in 2004. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this system through Amazon.I work out at home in the AM before work.I was looking for a Smith machine so that I could lift heavy in the basement without the danger presented by free weights w/o a spotter.You'll find Smith machines cheaper than the Caribou, but they fit in the category of "home gym" equipment.Commercial machines are generally a lot more expensive than the Caribou.I settled on Caribou because of the solid construction and flexibility to add on features later as my needs demand (such as a pec deck, cable cross, dip station).

The system delivers in 5 boxes weighing 485# (2 or 3 are more than 100#).I broke the heavy boxes down before taking the equipment to the basement.There are a lot of parts.This is not a hard machine to assemble, but it took me 2.5 hours by myself. (I'm handy.Two people would have made the job a little easier, but this is not hard to put together alone.)

The system is solid.300# is easily handled.I don't have need for more, but I'd bet another 200# is well within the range of this system.

My only complaint is that the system is a little small.You cannot use the supplied bench with the back upright to support shoulder presses (the bench cannot slide deeply enough into the rack to do that).I do shoulder presses without the bench back raised.The lat pull down and chinning bar are also lower than I'd like (I'm 6'2").But I compensate by doing pull downs kneeling on the floor and chinning with legs bent 90 degrees at the knees.Frankly, a bigger machine would have a hard time fitting into a home, so I think this is why the dimensions are what they are.(This is the reason for four vice five stars.)However, for bench presses and squats, this is a full sized olympic system.

Finally, this system doesn't come with weights.I recommend you either buy these used off eBay/Craigs List or look for a deal at Sports Authority.The money you pay to deliver the weights will probably exceed the cost of the weights themselves.(I got a 300# set including an olympic bar for $140 from Sports Authority.Beat that if you can!)

If you're serious about getting/staying in shape at home, you cannot go wrong with this system.

(More customer reviews)I was a little reluctant to buy these dvds--they cost more and have a lower production quality than P90X.Also they are unedited, leading to some awkward pauses during the workouts.That being said, these workouts were EXACTLY what I needed to break the "plateau" I had after going through P90X and P90X+.With the variety from these workouts, I think that I will be able to keep confusing my body and keep getting results.Here is my take on the videos:

1.Plyo Legs.Ouch!These moves are all in the P90X Plyometrics DVD and in the Legs portion of the Legs and Back DVD.There may be a couple of new ones.It mixes up how you can work out your legs.It's an awesome lower body workout.Expect to be sore.About an hour long.

2.Road Warrior.This one is a great total body routine.4 rounds of chest, back, shoulders, triceps, biceps, and legs.You just need one resistance band.Bonus abs at the end.A tough workout but nothing too crazy.Tony was pretty wacky in this one.If you like him, you'll laugh a lot.About an hour long.

3.Killer abs.Ab Ripper 200 followed by 20 reps of each Ab Ripper X exercise.I wasn't sure if I could make it the first time I did it.Now I love it.About 20 minutes long.

4.Just Arms.I love this one.It's just triceps, biceps, and forearms.After doing this a few times, my biceps made some big gains.About 50 minutes long.

5.30-15.This is one of the hardest workouts I've ever done.It made Chest and Back from P90X feel like a recovery day.12 sets of 30 push-ups and 15 pull-ups.I still can't keep up with Tony, but I've made some big-time gains thanks to this dvd.I only wish the music were as intense as the workout.About an hour long.

6.Fountain of Youth Yoga.This is great if you're short on time.45 minutes to do all the Yoga you can.When I have time, I'll do the P90X Yoga, but most of the time between work and being a dad, 45 minutes is all I can spare.No worries, you can still break a sweat, elongate the muscles, and take care of the joints and connective tissue.Plus I feel great after this workout.

7.Super Cardio.Another good cardio workout for your repertoire. I really like Interval X+ and Kenpo CardioX+ from P90X+ and this is almost on par with those.About 45 minutes.

8.Mammoth UML.I thought this one would be a dvd that I'd try once and toss.Nope.I ended up loving it.Tony has you doing 6 rounds of push-ups (different/new variations), abs (some new stuff here too), and legs.It's perfect for when you are on the road or need to just mix it up.Tony is a great in this one too.About an hour long.

9.Bun Shaper.This video mixes it up and is pretty fun.It really works your backside.I felt this one in my legs too.It also felt like an interval cardio routine.About 50 minutes long.

10.Medicine Ball Core Cardio.Be prepared to sweat.It's short, around 35-40 minutes, but tough.If I am feeling really strong at the end of a lifting day, I may try to do this workout at the end.If I'm feeling psycho, I'll do it twice in a row.Lots of bang for your buck here and almost all new moves.

11.Recovery 4 Results.This workout is essential during a recovery week (or if you are feeling toasted after doing 30-15!).Just replace one of the two core synergistics workouts from the P90X recovery week for a more balanced recovery week.You do some stretching and yoga, then some light cardio, 1 round of light lifting for all the major muscles, and then wrap it up with a cool down.It is just what the doctor ordered when you want to do a workout but your body is stiff and needs and break.About 45 minutes long.

12.Diamond Delts.P90X and P90X+ really increased my shoulder strength but in all the workouts, the shoulders are never worked move after move after move.This one will work your delts and get results from focusing on just them.About 35 minutes long.

Overall, the workouts are effective because they get you to mix up the moves you learned in P90X or P90X+.You may have to look past some imperfections, but the variety of the workouts will help keep you going and growing--especially if you're a P90X/P90X+ addict like I am.

(More customer reviews)This elliptical trainer is designed and built in Germany and is rock solid. Even purchasing probably the lowest end product, it is quality built. The monitor was confusing and the directions are not the best, but it is not so complicated that we can't figure it out. The noise level is non-existent. The footprint makes it possible to put in any room. The warranty was one of the best I found. I will reccommend this company and their products to everyone.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this system from a big-box sporting goods store. The installation instructions stink. Some bags of bolts, nuts, etc. appear to be mislabeled, but in the instructions it says those numbers are to help THEM, not YOU, so you have to ignore the part numbers on the bags. Gee, thanks! The instructions manual's illustrations were typically very crowded and it was often very difficult to see everything you were supposed to do. No real written instructions, just illustrations. It took close to 6 hours to assemble it, but I bet the second time would be under 4 hours. The instructions, though lousy, were not a major source of dissatisfaction.

After getting it set up, my son's girlfriend tried out the ab crunch station. She probably had about 30 pounds on it and the weld on the pivot arm was breaking! My new gym ... broken almost immediately. I emailed tech support on a Sunday and they responded the next day. They wanted some additional information, which I supplied. About two weeks later, I received the replacement part. I had to do a good bit of disassembly to get the part replaced. Once installed, it felt very flimsy ... not nice and sturdy like the showroom model. A while later, I revisited the store. The showroom model pivot arm was MUCH better designed and MUCH beefier! No wonder!

I took photos and described the problem to Powertec in email. They ignored the email ... no response. I've sent several more ... same result. I guess I'm stuck with a crappy system. I returned it to the Big-Box store on the 89th day (90 day return policy). One other difference between the showroom model and my model: there is an eyelet on each end of a horizontal bar used to attach the chain for triceps pulldowns on the showroom model, making access very easy. My model has one eyelet right in the middle of the bar, forcing me to stretch out over the ab crunch seat ... not a comfortable situation.

This COULD be a nice gym. It probably WAS nice before Powertec cheapened the design. The part that really burns me up is the (lack of) tech support. Ignore customer complaints, PAY THE PRICE! ZERO STARS! CAVEAT EMPTOR!
